Quick Hit Friday . . .

"Are you gonna bark all day, little doggie, or are you gonna bite?," - Michael Madsen, "Reservoir Dogs"

Between blown tires and brain cells, I needed something light and airy like celebrity shenanigans to counterbalance life its ownself, and it was a full week as:

Celebrity socialite Nicole Richie pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and was sentenced to four days in jail,. Richie also confirmed that she was pregnant with Joel Madden's seed a few days later.

After Diane Sawyer told Richie that she was showing a little, Richie promptly went on a 3-day fast.

Star Jones Reynolds said in a new interview that her dramatic weight-loss was due to gastric-bypass surgery, and that she dodged questions about it for years because she was "scared of what people might think of me."

I think it's far too late in the game for Star to start worrying about what people think of her because that ship has sailed.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were finally officially divorced on Monday, but the alimony agreement will not be made public unless there is an enforcement issue going on. It's also rumored that K-Fed might be seeking custody of their two children after reports surfaced that Spears has been feeding them Coke in bottles and looking into teeth whitening for her sons.

Spears just needs to disappear because every day simply showcases her inability to function as a human being.

Eddie Murphy popped the question to his girlfriend of 10 months, movie producer Tracey Edmonds, this week just as Scary Spice was gearing up to sue him for a failure to pay child support.

Nothing spells romance like a paternity suit and a court summons I suppose.

A female fan groped Tim McGraw after his concert at the Cajundome last weekend, which prompted McGraw's wife, Faith Hill, to berate the woman from onstage.

"Someone needs to teach you some class, my friend," Hill said.

That was pretty classless, but if Hill feels that McGraw is one-up on her by being groped, then maybe their tour should pass through Austin and she can even the score (obviously I would volunteer to help).

Scarlett Johansson has turned down an offer to play porn star Jenna Jameson in a movie about her life after the actress was hand-selected as the perfect person to take on the role by Jameson herself.

This is quite simply the saddest news I've heard all week.

Whoopi Goldberg was officially named as the new moderator of "The View" on Wednesday and she said the new job is a "big ol' thrill for me."

She added that: "I love this show," said Goldberg. "I love coming on it. I love hanging out with you guys."

Thankfully Barbara Walters refrained from any "let's make Whoopi" jokes - for now - and that is a very good thing.

Singer R Kelly will be tried next month for allegedly engaging in videotaped sex acts with an underage girl. Chicago judge Vincent Gaughan said jury selection would begin on 17 September - five years after the accusations were first made against the singer.

Depending on the outcome, Kelly can only hope to be "Trapped in a Closet" because his charges could land him in a place that is far worse.

But let's not end with prison and bad feelings as I prefer this image:

I'm all for team sports and spirit, and while I don't wear a thong to show it, I still support the effort. So, if your friends and you get inspired to line up in your underwear, feel free to do so, enjoy the attention and . . . Happy Friday!

  2. Wasn't Joel Madden stuffing the Duff?

So, no Scarlett in the Jenna flick. That's too bad. And with Whoopi joining the view, she won't have the time to take the part either.

  3. He was, and Hilary supposedly wrote several songs about the break-up, although I have no first-hand listening knowledge of the results. And let's all hope that Whoopi doesn't take a hiatus and step in for Scarlett.

  5. What a shocker, Star Jones!
    "that ship has sailed" lol
That last picture gives a whole new meaning to the words "soccer moms" ha

    Happy Friday...

  7. Faith Hill kinda went up on my respect meter for yelling at the grabby fan.

    Happy Friday!

  8. Jlee - If those were typical soccer moms then it would certainly enhance my opinion. Ha.

Anonymous Boxer - Happy Friday, and it's good to get worked up when you're justified (and Faith was).

  10. Of course i'm going to watch the interview with Miss Richie this evening...or at least tape it. I hope I have something better to do than watch that filth on a Friday night...then again, jammies and some beer at home sounds great LOL.

  12. is that how I am suppose to dress when my son starts soccer this fall? thanks for letting me know, it is his first time playing and I wouldn't want to embarrass him too much by not dressing the right way while I cheer him on.

  13. Miss Ash - That doesn't sound too bad, but I might substitute a different show/movie for the Richie interview. You'll catch the high (low) lights somewhere else anyway. Ha.

Tiara Girl - I knew about Pulp Friction, but had no idea about the porn equivalent of 'Dogs.' Thanks.

Vivavavoom - Sometimes it can be very instructional around here. You son will be very proud as long as you cheer loudly.

  14. All I can say is I don't give a dam who the hell R.Kells screwed and who the hell he peed on. He is still the mutha-freakin' man!!

  16. Why can't Jenna play herself? How much work would she have to do in order to understand the character? Of course, she can't act and probably is still under contract so...

  18. I was shocked ~ Shocked I say ~ to hear that Ritchie actually Took Responsibility for driving DUI. Hmm....does this mean I have to have an iota of respect for her now?

  19. Trina - I honestly haven't listened to much of his music, but he has had a lot of hit songs, so on that front . . .

Getoffmylawn - Good point about the contract thing, and another one is a question: Have you seen Jenna lately? She looks awful and emaciated. Sad.

Bostonpobble - My feeling is that she was watching how Paris got raked over the coals, and is smart enough to know that she shouldn't go that same route. Cynical - maybe. Ha.

  21. Who the hell does Star even think gives a flip about her having weight loss surgery? Since she got fired from The View she has nothing and her current nothingness is an attempt to promote what little life she has left in her career.

Lots of Jenna J fans here it seems, but really... Scarlett is way too good to play that role. Other than Jenna, who wants to be known as the chick who's had enough dick to fill the trunk of a car?

  22. Completely agree about Star Jones, who was a fluke to begin with and is now fading back to nothinginess.

But the dick in a trunk line was hilarious. I'm stealing that for future use. Great visual.
