And The Creators Rested . . .

Posted by 2 Dollar Productions Sunday, December 03, 2006

"On the Sunday morning sidewalk,
Wishing Lord that I was stoned
Cause there's something in a Sunday
That makes a body feel alone," - Kris Kristofferson - "Sunday Morning Coming Down"

Sundays have never agreed with us.

There's something about that day that usually finds us feeling worn-down, hung-over, downtrodden & disillusioned with a strong case of the blues.

Kristofferson knew what he was talking about in that song as Sundays are about as useful as pennies or the career of Joe Rogan.

To ward off these kinds of feelings, here's some images that seem vaguely uplifting or at least a few items to remind us of something better than paying bills or nursing hangovers.

So watch football, go to church, do laundry, read a book or whatever you choose to do on Sundays because 2 Dollar Productions needs a break to re-charge the creative engines and hit the ground running on Monday.

And with that in mind, check back tomorrow for some actual content which will stay away from self-indulgent whining.

Damn you Sunday.

  2. Nice pics...although I'm not sure if the last one is an amoeba? I agree about Sundays...Why are they such a downer? At least I'm not hungover. Nanny nanny boo boo...

  4. I thought it was just me who didn't do well on Sundays. While it doesn't seem quite right to say I'm "glad" I'm not alone, it is reassuring to know that this is an occurance for other people as well.

  10. The only way to get over the hung over Sunday is to start drinking!!
    Bottoms up!!!

  11. Jlee - It might be an amoeba, but if so, it's the best damn looking amoeba I've ever seen. And that's just mean to rub a hangover in someone's face. Mean.

Bostonpobble - I'm glad there are others as well because I usually try to avoid talking to people on Sundays and wouldn't know otherwise.

Ashley - It's never a good feeling & let's hope it doesn't last too long.

Slopmaster - This post will be around virtuall every Sunday for awhile so I'm glad it passed the smell test.

Symplyamused - We'll add another member to the club, and I'm glad you liked the pictures.

  15. Sunday's are great, you don't have to work, what can be better than that. Well maybe if my job was boob squeezer.

  17. Congratulations to ME for having the first Sunday on which I woke up before 2 pm. And went to bed before 6 am, at that.

Congratulations to YOU on... uh... hm.

  18. Dr - We all have our bad days, eh? And that's too bad your birthday as Monday is actually worse than Sunday I think. Maybe next year.

Big Ben - Boob squeezer would be a job that I wouldn't mind working weekends on, but Sundays are good for not working yet I always find myself doing chores like laundry and bills which is work in my book.

Julia - Congratulations to you indeed, and we don't always need a pat on the back around here. We'll rally with something noteworthy soon. Ha.

Jackie - A little whining goes a long way, and too many blogs and people in general tend to forget that.

  21. I thought so too and can't remember where I found it, but I couldn't stop looking at it.
