Ice Cream Dreams & K-Fed . . .

Posted by 2 Dollar Productions Monday, April 23, 2007

I love when I forget about the merits of someone or something, and then discover it again to realize that it's not merely good, it's great.

And so it went with McDonald's soft-serve ice cream cones this weekend.

It had been quite awhile since I'd had one, but that time lapse won't happen again as I had forgotten just how tasty those damn things were. The consistency and flavor was far better than I remembered, which caused me to order a second cone from the same slightly perplexed woman working the drive-through.

The fact that I was more than a little sideways at the time probably didn't help matters as I ravenously devoured the cones before they could melt.

After leaving with an ice cream headache, I started thinking how great it would be to have one of the McDonald's ice cream machines in my house, much like I think about having a giant espresso machine after visiting a Starbucks.

{Editor's Note: This is NOT one of my illegitimate children in the picture. I have no association with this child.}

But upon further thought, it would probably be a bad idea and lead to digusting habits, not to mention the general upkeep and explanation for invited guests.

It's one of those things in life that are better in theory than reality - much like having your picture taken with Kevin Federline, but it didn't stop these classy ladies from doing so in Vegas recently.

It's a poor state of affairs when K-Fed appears to be the smartest man at the table, but I hate to disparage the guy too much considering he's sitting with a bevy of blondes, just finalized a multi-million dollar divorce settlement and probably has at least two McDonald's ice cream machines in his house.

Bastard.

  2. Hmmm I might have to stop on the way home from work. I haven't even been to a Mc D's since they got rid of their veggie burgers and subs. It's been years.

  6. "I have no association with this child." haha Yeah, we've heard THAT line before! lol

I do love these little treats and they are very cheap if I recall. They used to be a quarter, but with inflation I'm not sure about now?

We joked while in Vegas we were going to seek out K-Fed and get a picture with him. Just for the pure shock value. But I'm sure our hair would've looked better than that one chick on the left. AAH

  7. Miss Ash - You should and you won't be disappointed.

Anonymous - Of course you do. Ha.

Jlee - You just have to make sure things are clear when it comes to children & virtually everything else. And you can get two cones for $1.50 now - what a steal.

  11. This is one of those "you had to be there" situations, but maybe I can describe it adequately. A few years ago, I had gotten a soft-serve cone from a DQ-like place. It was about 100 degrees in the San Fernando Valley and I'd put my cone in the drink holder of my car, to the right of the driver's side. At a stoplight, I lowered my head to lick the top of the quickly-melting ice cream and looked up to see a guy in a truck, next to and slightly above my car, having an enjoyable time watching me. I don't think I've had a soft-serve cone since.

  13. Mmmmm. Ice cream. Try Chic-fil-a's too, it's half the fat and seriously tasty.

  14. If you had one of those machines (you also need the milk-like substance to "load" the machine), you'd spend too much time crouching in front of it, head tilted all the way back with one hand on the knob, stopping only to pass wind.
But yeah, you should totally get one of those. Try here.

  16. That was funny, yes Kevin isn't doing too badly.
We have been getting those ice creams often lately too.

  17. You can't beat classy with a capital K!

  18. for the sake of my own sanity/ego I'm trying to convince myself the conversation those girls had after meeting KFed went something like this:

GirlintheBareshirt: Omigawd, was it just me or did federline smell?

Girlontheright: I know, like, take a shower or something. I would never sleep with someone who contributes so little to society.

Girlwhothinksshesblack: When I first saw him I was thinking of maybe giving him a handjob, but then I smelled him and I thought no way. If I'm gonna sleep with any useless, smelly bastard its gonna be Hootch.

  19. Nobich - It's pure, fun trash. Ha.

Wendy - That is a pretty funny visual, especially from above for the driver. Ha. But I hope this hasn't scarred you forever as it seems easily fixable.

Melissa - I'm never had it there. Thanks for the tip.

WhatIgot - I appreciate the link, but all that milk loading & passing gas are just a few of the details that I'm pretty sure would relagate the project to failure. But I'll look into it.

Carmel - Very smart move, eat the ice cream & stay away from K-Fed.

    Sarcastic - The picture just oozes Klass . . . doesn't it?

Idig - Girl who thinks she's black. Ha. That looks about right, and while I have no problem with your insertion of yourself into the equation, I think you're giving the one in the middle too much credit with her society give-back standards. She probably gave K-Fed the handjob despite the smell.

  20. I think I might catch something from one of those people just looking at that photo!!! LOL

  21. I'd wash my hands after viewing it - just to be safe.
