A court has ruled that R. Kelly's sex tape can be viewed by the public, which most likely means that it will also be splashed across the Internet faster than you can say "what a moron." 
Judge Vincent Gaughan said there was no "overarching interest" in banning the videotape - which shows the singer allegedly having sex with an underage girl - from being shown to the media and public in his child pornography court case.
Kelly has pleaded not guilty to 14 counts of child pornography stemming from his alleged encounter with a 13-year-old girl.
Rumors have abounded that Kelly tape includes sex and urination, which led to a pretty funny skit on the now-cancelled "Dave Chappelle Show." 
Ignoring the legal and moral issues at stake here (of which there are quite a few and they are just wrong), my main question is this: If you're going to have sex with an underage girl, then why in the world would you tape it?
Everyone knows that sex tapes ALWAYS are discovered and dispersed and anyone stupid enough to record themselves committing illegal activities deserves whatever punishment comes to them.
At least that's my opinion.

Forrest Gump's mother was right. "Stupid is as stupid does." Gee whiz, I can't understand why the judge thinks it is okay to allow this tape on the internet. They break up child porn rings that use the internet for viewing purposes. Isn't this the same?
By the way, did you meet last Friday with the modeling agent?
Colleen - R. Kelly certainly fits that bill, but I still wouldn't bet my loft on the fact that he'll be convicted. He's sold too many albums for that.
Dreamlover - It's more of a morbid curiosity with most porn tapes (i.e. Fred Durst, Kid Rock/Scott Stapp), but sometimes something just plain entertaining (i.e. Pamela Anderson & Tommy Lee) comes along that redeems the whole lot.
Sarcastic - I don't think the judge is going to allow it on the Internet, but if it's released at all then it's only a matter of time before it makes its way there. And yes I did meet with the agent and should post an update by Wednesday.
This is a case of overwhelming stupids.
R. Kelly = stupid for having sex with underage
R. Kelly= Extra stupid for taping it all.
Judge: inconsiderate/stupid for not considering moral issues.
I personally don't want to be watching R. Kelly urinating on a 13 year old girl, although I'm sure some people will eventually get off of it once it spreads on the net.

Child porn is child porn, i'm not sure how the judge can get off allowing such a video to be played anywhere.
I'm curious about the "not guilty" plea...he's on video.....
D - There's certainly enough stupidity to go around in this case, but most of it begins and ends with R. Kelly.
Colleen - Celebrity buys you out of a lot of things & this might be one more.
Miss Ash - Apparently everyone who's seen the tape swears it's R. Kelly, but his defense seems to be "it looks exactly like me, but it ain't me."
And I don't think I buy it.
As long as he doesn't make another godawful "opera" about it, I guess I can choose not to watch it.

I assume you're referring to his "Trapped in the Closet" series which was so awful that it was almost compelling.
But still awful.
Kelly is pretty stupid. That's clear. He's thinking with male anatomy again, and not the organ meant for thinking.
But the judge shouldn't even consider releasing the tape. There is still a 13 year old girl involved. Regardless of her role in this- young and stupid are the kindest... She has a life to live, and mistakes to learn from. As adults she should be protected and that should include witholding the tape completely.
