Quick Hit Friday . . .

"I've been swimming in raw sewage. I love it." - Leslie Nielsen, "Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear"

It's getting closer to Christmas all the time, although from the 75 degree weather in Austin this week you wouldn't know it around here. Details. Anyway, I've got holiday parties all weekend which I anticipate will be about as fun as genital warts, but let's round up the week that was with stories like:

Us Weekly reported that Scarlett Johansson has had plastic surgery on her nose, a claim the actress vehemently denies, and the actress is threatening legal action.

Johansson said, “I have always been straightforward with the press regarding my body image and I am very concerned that my fans (and perhaps even my employers) will feel mislead. Thus, I feel compelled to take immediate legal action against US Weekly.”

It's too bad the story wasn't about potential breast implants because if they needed an impartial observer to get to the bottom of the issue, I would gladly volunteer my services. But I don't do noses.

In response to "Entertainment Weekly" recently naming the smartest celebrities in Hollywood, The New York Daily News proclaimed Lindsay Lohan to be the dumbest this week.

The newspaper stated that dumb does not only mean low IQ and that other factors must also be taken into account including "poor life choices, style slipups and mishaps under the influence." Lohan took the title because of her "poor movie choices, delinquent behavior and bad taste in men."

Immediately following the announcement, Britney Spears demanded a voting recount.

Kiefer Sutherland was sentenced Wednesday to 48 days in jail for racking up a second drunken-driving arrest in three years and immediately reported to a city lockup.

The judge decided on the 48-day sentence length by adding the first two seasons of "24" together and stating that "the subsequent seasons failed to live up to my standards and so I didn't consider them in my verdict."

Scott Weiland's publicist has denied the singer was driving under the influence when he crashed his car in California last month.

At the time, the Velvet Revolver frontman refused a blood or urine test and was charged with DUI. He was released on bail and is due to appear in court on December 13. Weiland's publicist said "Scott was not driving under the influence of a drug, legal or illegal. He voluntarily took a breathalyzer test which the defense believes registers well within the legal limit."

He later added with a smirk - "The legal limit for a rock superstar. Yeah."

Actor Brad Pitt plans to focus on rebuilding New Orleans and extending his family, he told CNN's Larry King this week as he also mentioned that acting may not be in his long-term future.

"It's become less and less a focus as I get older," he said. "I think it's really more of a younger man, younger woman's game."

I feel for Pitt wanting to act less and procreate more because if Angelina Jolie was my wife then I would be VERY selective with my work schedule.

Teri Hatcher was sued this week for $2.4 million by Hydroderm for promoting the wrong lip gloss.

Hydroderm's suit claims that a 2005 endorsement agreement with Teri's production company stipulated she wouldn't endorse competing products. But according to the suit, Teri also began puckering up to CityLips, a lip plumper that competes with Hydroderm's Volumizing Lip Serum.

I'm not sure about the merits of the suit, however, I might sue her for fraud simply because I don't think there's a single thing on her face that's still natural.

As always, let's end with a gold image like:

It may be warm in Austin, but I wouldn't mind draping myself in fur like this woman has done. So, find someone wearing soft materials today, be sure to ask if petting is allowed and . . . Happy Friday!

  2. So Teri's lips aren't real. For fake lips, I expect something spectacular.

  4. Angelina Jolie...I just don't see it. I think the bitch is nuts - and not in a "good" way.

  5. WhatIgot - I don't know what on Teri is real, and generally I don't care about real vs. fake, however, as you noted, a good set of fake lips should be something to behold.

Heff - I see it. Ha. I would refer you to Mr. and Mrs., Gia and Tomb Raider among others. These aren't all good movies per se, but I think for pure looks you could do far worse.

  6. oh man, see that pic of sutherland (I cant remember if it was the one of him being arrested or just outside the courthouse)? He looks even more pigeon-necked and soft bellied than David Caruso!

  7. Of all the crap they write about celebrities, Scarlett Johansson cares about a PLASTIC SURGERY rumor? Isn't plastic surgery mandatory in Hollywood?

  9. Happy Friday Guys!!!

  10. Idig - I haven't seen it, but man, if you really think that Kiefer has topped Caruso then it must be pretty horrible.

Wendy - True. But I guess there are some lines you just can't cross, which in this case, obviously includes rumors about noses. Bizarre.

Nobich - Happy Friday to you.

  12. 75 degrees....it's minus 2 degrees C where I live (28 degrees F) for you yanks :P

    Happy Friday!

  14. I feel compelled to send a weather report also, 33 degrees and snowing here ... 75 sounds awesome! I love that Johansson sticks up for herself, I think it's sad that she has to. Happy Friday!!

  15. Miss Ash - Thanks as I don't consider C to be a real temperature gauge. Ha. That cold sounds worse than my warm December weather.

Linda - I could do without the cold, but I would like to see a little snow like you're getting. I'll find some in Taos, NM in January, but for Austin, not so much.

  17. - love the Naked Gun movies
    - can't stand Scarlett Johansson
    - like Lindsay Lohan (just don't ask why, because I really can't explain it)
    - don't mind Kiefer Sutherland
    - have no clue who Scott Weiland is
    - Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie are not my fave people
    - Teri Hatcher's just annoying
    - as for the girl in the fur, an outfit like that just wouldn't do in our weather. It's very important to layer here.

  19. Chilly here to!!

  21. Well, for once, my corner of the UK is not cold... just damp as usual.

I just find it so hard that us normal women beat ourselves up incessantly over our looks as we get older and yet we are continually trying to aspire to an image that is constantly being repaired by invasive means. Shame on all the 'golden' women that we have to try to compete with.

Happy Holidays! And you have permission to lean across and check that I have been in no way interfered with. Yup, those laughter lines are all mine...

  23. happy holidays, sugar! please pass the pepper ;-)

  24. Grace - I'm right with you on the Naked Gun series, I enjoy certain aspects of Scarlett, agree about Hatcher and maybe the fur woman had on an outer layer to start with. Never underestimate the warmth of a good fur. Ha.

Casdok - It's supposed to set a record at 84 degrees today. Ridiculous.

Havingmycake - Happy Holidays across the pond. I think that all lines caused by laughing are good ones, golden is a sliding scale, and we've all been interfered with in some way or another. Ha.

Savannah - Happy Holidays and as soon I'm done with it, I will send the pepper right along.

  25. Mr. DNA Says:
  26. Happy Holidays m'man!

I could watch Scarlet in Lost in Translation over and over and over... (of course I don't because I kinda have a life).

Naked Gun movies - I remember loving the 1st one when it came out. I think I just stick with my good memories. Sometimes when we try to revisit the past it just isn't the same.

Every time I notice Scotty W in the news I assume it'll be because he's dead. I wonder if being an addict is worse when you're super rich?

P.S. I read your profile. How is the script pitching going?

  27. Jenny Says:
  28. How did I miss "Quick Hit Friday? Yikes.

I think Teri Hatcher is just too stupid to remember what she was promoting.

And Heff? I'm a straight woman, and I think Angelina Jolie is HOT.

Look! Mr DNA/Cake/Savannah are here. Woot.

  29. Michele Says:
  30. I would like to haveScarlett Johansson's boobs.

Lindsay Lohan --as as mother I feel bad for her, she got a raw deal.

I have had no clue that Scott Weiland was still alive.

Angelina Jolie sorry but I just can't get over that she made out with her brother, wore a vial of blood of BillyBOB's around her neck and had an affair with a married man. She's still just a trashy bimbo with money.

Teri Hatcher, I've seen more meat on a dirty fork.

The girl in the fur, I hate her.

happy holiday's! See you at AB's

  31. If you need a second opinion on whether or not Scarlett's boobs are real, I'll offer up my hands for testing services.

I LOVED that line from Naked Gun 2 1/2. In fact, I loved those movies. Well, at least the first two. I never got around to seen 33 1/3. It came out when I lived an hour away from the closest movie theater. Since then I've just been too lazy I guess.

  32. Oh, and oddly enough, right as I started reading your comments about Scott Weiland, and old Stone Temple Pilots song started playing on my itunes. I hadn't thought about either him or that band for quite some time.

  33. Mr. DNA - I agree completely about Weiland as that seems like a matter of time. Lost in Translation is worth watching again and again for many reasons, and the first Naked Gun is probably safe to revisit - it's a law of diminshing returns after that. Finally, the script is slowly moving along and I have a potential meeting later this month to discuss our second one.

Anonymous Boxer - With your party to plan, I can forgive. Ha. And yeah, the no Jolie thing was surprising (and yr. Hatcher explanation is probably accurate). Keep the party moving.

Jetpass - Happy Holidays to you. Love the dirty fork line. Ha. I might have to borrow that in the future, and the biggest Jolie faux pas (sp?) was her brother thing. That didn't work for me at all. See you soon at ABs.

Native Minnow - Weiland knew that someone, somewhere was thinking about him and sent a message. Some STP stuff was pretty solid. And I have the Naked Gun box set on DVD. The first and second ones are excellent, and the third is solid (but you didn't miss that much by skipping it). Finally, I admire your altruism with Scarlett as there's too few of us left in the world who truly care.

  34. Scarlett and Angelina both have the same style of lips. Kind of reminds me of a baboons ass when they are all lip-sticked up.

  35. I'm a Scarlett Johanssen kinda gal myself .... curvy.

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I'll try and be on my best behavior for the rest of the party.

  36. Karen Says:
  37. I just popped in to say hi from AB's and found myself reading quite a few of your posts. I love all things Hollywood because I find actors to be a unique kind of human being with nothing in common with the rest of us mere mortals. Call me old fashioned but they fascinate me.

Love Scarlett's boobs - I want them (well what I mean is I want some just like hers).

Love your blog. Hope you won't mind if I come back and Happy Holidays. Might see you at the party.

  38. Upset Waitress - Ha. Yeah, if you're talking about those red-assed baboons, then I can see the connection.

Blaze - I wouldn't worry about the behavior as every party needs an element of danger. Some parties need them more than others.

Gypsy - I'm glad you came over from the party as it is quite a large gathering, and thanks about the blog. I agree about Scarlett (of course) as well as movies being a fascinating medium. I've liked them for a long time, although I can be critical on some "stars" as we all play our favorites, eh?
