Quick Hit Early Friday . . .

“Think about it Josh, you're in college. The window of opportunity to drink and do drugs and take advantage of young girls is getting smaller by the day.” – Sean William Scott, ‘Road Trip’

This was not a particularly good movie, but I’ve got college on the brain right now as I’ve got several old friends coming into town tomorrow, some of which I haven’t seen since college which is approaching 10 years ago. Couple that with some client meetings in the morning and I figured I’d get a jump on the long weekend so QHF wasn’t entirely doomed.

With that in mind, let’s look at the hard stories of the week such as:

"Rachael Ray" won the top “entertainment” talk show prize at the Daytime Emmy Awards this week.

In other categories, the women of "The View" ended Ellen DeGeneres' four-year reign as best talk show host and “The Tyra Banks Show” won the “informative” prize.

If I were Rachel Ray, I wouldn’t be too excited because any show that rewards Tyra Banks as “informative” immediately loses all its credibility.

Reality TV star Audrina Patridge announced she was leaving the reality show ‘The Hills’ this week to focus on her acting career.

The 24-year-old, who is developing her own reality series, has been a regular on the hit MTV show since its inception in 2006.

Said Patridge: "I'm almost done with 'The Hills.' We're in the middle of finishing these episodes, and I'll be leaving then. It feels like I'm graduating. I'm taking the next step and growing up and maturing and moving on in my life."

Patridge will undoubtedly be “graduating” to the pages of ‘Playboy’ magazine soon enough where she can join fellow cast mate Heidi Montag.

Speaking of Playboy, it was reported this week that their editors are desperately trying to convince Lindsay Lohan to strip nude for the magazine and have made a new offer of $900,000.00 to convince her to agree.

Lohan has yet to respond to the offer.

She will respond 'Yes' to the offer once she returns from her summer vacation to Columbia and Bolivia for “research.”

Jon Gosselin gave an interview to “Good Morning America” this week to talk about his problematic marriage.

Gosselin says he was the one taking "a lot of abuse" from estranged wife Kate Gosselin.

"She'll call me like, almost like a lame fish,” he claimed. "Like I wasn't going anywhere."

I have absolutely no idea why Kate would feel that way.

Paula Abdul said that she plans to host her own talk show in the future now that she is no longer on “American Idol.”

Said Abdul: “I definitely want to do a talk show because it would be different,” she says. “It would be a lot of fun variety with a ton of unexpected stuff and tributes to everyday people getting their big chance.”

The first step in a successful talk show would be for Abdul to learn how to speak consistently in complete and coherent sentences.

Whitney Houston made her comeback to television Wednesday with a four-song concert in Central Park broadcast on Good Morning America.

"I'm overwhelmed," Houston said after performing her opening number, "Million Dollar Bill." "I love you all saying hello to me. I never left, I never left."

Houston later explained that she meant that she never left the house when she was doing drugs for all those years.

Demi Moore told the French edition of Marie Claire magazine that she has never undergone cosmetic surgery to enhance her looks, insisting she is a natural beauty.

The 47-year-old actress has long been subjected to rumors she underwent a body overhaul in 2004, allegedly spending $308,000 on a head-to-toe surgical makeover.

She said: "It's completely false. I've never had it done. But I would never judge those who have. If it's the best thing for them, then I don't see a problem. I don't like the idea of having an operation to hold up the aging process -- it's a way to combat your neurosis. The scalpel won't make you happy."

She later added: “But lying about going under the scalpel and believing you have everyone fooled feels great.”

As always, let’s end with a gold image or three since it’s a long weekend:

It’s always nice to have a friend around even if you don’t plan anything this exotic. Regardless, let the good times reign down, feel free to discipline those who break the rules and . . . Happy Early Friday and Happy Labor Day Weekend!

  1. Heff Says:
  2. Holy shit !! is it Friday already ? Someone's taking a day off. I CAN SMELL IT !!!

I DO find it hilarious that Playboy offered Lohan $ 900,000 when the usual going rate is 1 Million for celebrities, LMAO !!

  3. Heff - You can smell it like a fart in a car. Ha. I won't be doing very much "work" past 10 a.m. tomorrow. Is that the going rate? I bet she takes it anyway. Enjoy the long weekend.

  4. wigsf Says:
  5. I heard that if Lohan rejects Playboy, they're going to call the skankier Olsen twin and shoot her next to mirror.

  6. JLee Says:
  7. I think Jon Gosselin is a loser, but I do remember those clips on the Soup where Kate was basically emasculating him on camera. Felt a little sorry for the guy. ha

I'm not sure what sort of strange implements are in that first pic...perhaps riding acoutrement? hhmm

Anyway, have a fantastic long weekend. :)

  8. WIGSF - Which one is the skankier Olsen? I can never remember which is which. As for Lohan, it's only a matter of time before she ends up in 'Playboy.' Bet on it. Enjoy the weekend.

Jlee - I agree about Gosselin as Kate was pretty awful, but since the divorce papers, Jon has turned into a bigger jackass (it takes a lot to make Kate look like the sane one. Ha)> And yes, I belive you are right about the riding parts and love the term 'acoutrement.' I try to use it often. Have a great long birthday weekend yourself. Win big.

  9. Wendy Says:
  10. Oh, Demi, Demi. Kind of hard to believe her. If not head-to-toe, she had to have had at least a little. We're around the same age and if I had her money I would sooooo have the plastic surgery. I can't understand why it's suddenly so shameful.

  11. Wendy Says:
  12. Also, am I the only one who is completely ANNOYED by the sound of Rachael Ray's voice? I'm sure she's a darling person, but...

  13. kmwthay Says:
  14. okay - that image of Paula made me spit my water all over my computer monitor. That was a fun highlight to my day.

Ah - Audrina. She's pretty much a knock out. There are only a handful of girls that I wouldn't mind - uh nevermind.

I'm treating myself to the day off tomorrow. It's the last weekend I have until I'm 'over the hill' so I'll be doing a lot of drinking. And rooting for my Sooners. I know you will too. ;)

  15. Joanna Cake Says:
  16. Id like to think Demi hadnt had surgery but Im pretty sure she must have :( With all these women, the best test is to look at their midriff. Those who are approaching 50 and have had kids will have at least a small amount of saggy skin around that area unless they've had it tucked.

I'll do Playboy for the same price if Linsey wont!

And, finally, is that Marilyn Manson in that first pic?

  17. Linda Says:
  18. Wow talk about a collection of women that are a mess. Lohan, Gosselin, Houston, Abdul *yeesh*. And to Moore's claim of "no work done here" I'll say, "yeah, sure, OK...." Though, maybe tons of spa treatments, a chef, a trainer and a 30 year old hubby is the new replacement for plastic surgery. If I see her in Providence this year I'll ask. Just heard her daughter is going to Brown. Happy Friday and have a great time with your friends!!

  19. BostonPobble Says:
  20. Enjoy your weekend, whenever it starts. Might there be a Bathing With the Drunken Viking post in the near future?

  21. Wendy - Yeah, I don't think it's shameful at all, and I'm sure Demi works hard for it too, however, I just wish she'd admit to something. Anything. That is just a little insulting. Ha. As for Rachel, it is a little annoying. My sister-in-law went on her show once as a guest and she said the set was crazy. Happy Labor Day.

Kmwthay - I had to put that one of Abdul up since I knew what my punchline was going to be. Ha. I felt a little bad, but . . . As for Audrina, she is great looking, but her eyes are so damn vacant that it hurts me a little and takes away some of her appeal. :) Finally, nice work with the day off and I hope you have a great long weekend and ride over the hill in a blaze of glory. Enjoy it.

Joanna Cake - I think the middle is a good litmus test for surgery as is around the eyes. Demi looks great regardless of what she has or hasn't done. And I certainly hope that wasn't Manson running amok on QHF. You can send yr. pics to Playboy with an email title along the lines of 'Lindsay's Proxy.' Ha. You've already got the shots taken. Have a good weekend.

Linda - I thought the same thing scrolling through this post before I published - it was heavy on crazy females this week. Oh well, I'm sure it will even out soon enough. Ha. And yeah, be sure to casually mention that to Demi if you see her and report back. Please. :) Who's going to Brown? Rumor? Happy Labor Day (probably going to see 'Extract' sometime this weekend).

Bostonpobble - Thanks and I plan to write in the early a.m. tomorrow and then it will be shelved until Tuesday. Labor Day Weekend and I don't plan to do much laboring. And yes, I have a feeling the Viking might make an appearance next week. Enjoy your weekend.

  22. Linda Says:
  23. Scout's the one going to Brown, according to Rumor on Letterman the other night. Her comment was something like, "I'll let my sister cure cancer, she's the smart one. I'll stick to acting." I like her!

  24. Is it too early to wish that Jon and Kate would just go away? Because I do. I have since the first time I learned who they were.

  25. Linda - Thanks as Rumor was the only name I knew (she's in that new 'Sorority Row' movie coming out), but now that you mention it Scout rings a bell too. Odd name and all, but good for her. Appreciate the knowledge.

Native Minnow - I wish (WISH) that neither of them garnered another interview or magazine cover for the rest of their lives. But it won't happen. Unfortunately. Enjoy the long weekend.

  26. Boxer Says:
  27. Demi may not have not done anything YET for the aging process, but anyone who has watched "About Last Night" will know what she has done. Yeesh. Still, she looks great.

You sneaking out early tomorrow? Have a wonderful weekend.

  28. TROLL Y2K Says:
  29. I was hoping to be first and instead I'm 17th.

Is Hustler still in bidness? Seems Lohan would be a better fit there.

  30. nobich Says:
  31. Although I'm not into Whitney Houston's music I always felt bad about how things turned for her. Before she was famous I saw her singing at my cousin's wedding in NY City she was wonderful.
Oh well it was a long time ago...
    Happy Friday!!

  32. Gypsy Says:
  33. I have seen Paula Abdul being bagged many times on American blogs about her antics on Idol which of course I haven't seen. I finally got to see what you've all been talking about when I saw her on Letterman a little while ago.

Poor old David looked quite embarrassed for her and appeared to wish he was anywhere but sitting at his desk with Ms Abdul. It was truly cringeworthy.

Hmmm...I'm not sure what to say about that first pic but the other two are as titillating as always.

Have a fab weekend with your buddies from College and try not to relive your youth too much B. Your body will thank me.

  34. Boxer - I bet she's done a few things, but I can't prove it. Wasn't Andrew McCarthey in 'Night'? I haven't seen that movie forever. Hope you had a hell of a good weekend.

Nobich - Blame it on the jump start QHF as my schedule was off for days and still is. I think Hustler is still in business as far as print goes, but I doubt they would pay as much as Playboy though I could be wrong. Lohan would fit in well with Larry Flynt.

Nobich - That's a pretty cool story about Houston. Can't even imagine . . . and I am in the same boat as I don't care that much for her music, but figure she deserves another chance after falling so low. If she stays clean, I bet she makes it back (though not all the way back as far as sales are concerned).

KayDee - I forgot and my body is cursing me. Ha. As for Paula, cringeworthy is a good word as you just feel kind of bad when people ramble and are incoherant. There's no way she should have her own talk show. Ha. Glad you liked the second two pics as they were my favorites too and I just needed another B/W pic to make 3 and it was interesting . . .
