The Greatest Sex Around Part 15 . . .

Posted by 2 Dollar Productions Monday, March 03, 2008

{This is the Fifteenth in a semi-regular series of posts regarding great cinematic sex scenes as defined by me. This is completely arbitrary and open for interpretation, but so is life.}

"Team America: World Police" easily boasts the finest display of puppet sex ever committed to film, and the scene in question, is also so graphic that you almost feel dirty for watching two pieces of manipulated plastic perform acts of extreme sexual acrobatics quite so well.

Regardless of the filth factor, the puppet interlude definitely earns its place among the all-time great cinematic sex scenes. Set to the mushy Aerosmith tune, "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing," the "South Park" creators make sure that their puppets leave absolutely no sexual position out of the mix as the duo show their love - again and again.

And no, those love-starved puppets don't miss a damn thing during their bedroom tyrst.

Nearly every sexual position is explored as the scene starts with the relatively tame missionary before going full-tilt into several minutes of cowgirl, 69, up-against-the-wall and even upside-down sex as stamina as well as flexibility mean nothing to these puppets.

They lay it all on the line, and the audience is better for it, although the unrated version does explore a 'steamier' side of things that jumped the shark for me (and I'll leave at least some territory unexplored with that one).

I doubt that "Team America: World Police" will ever face strong competition for puppet sex in the future, however, it wouldn't matter if they did because the passion on display in this project has already laid a high-water mark that will be nearly impossible to surpass.

  2. Hilarious! Yep, it will probably remain King of Puppet sex for years to come.
This shadow puppet sex is pretty clever too-

  4. I'm completely devastated, as I knew nothing of this film whatsoever.

  6. I'm going to see Puppetry of the Penis soon, nothing to do with this post....just thought i'd mention it LOL.

  7. Mitra - Yep. I bet it will wear this crown for a long time, but thanks for the link. That's pretty damn good too.

Heff - It's a pretty decent rental, but if you just want the puppet sex scene, do a Google search and enjoy.

Miss Ash - Is that a play? If not, it sounds shady. Ha. Even if it is a legit play, I'm not sure about the project. Enjoy it nonetheless.

  9. You've never heard of it? It's I think two men that mold their memebers into various things IE the Eiffel Tower, hamburgers etc. I'll let you know how it is :)

  10. Yay! Puppet sex in cinema! I believe there was also a scene in Howard Stern's movie, where the young Howard makes his marionettes simulate sex. For puppet sex in the theatre, nothing beats Avenue Q.

  12. I've only seen the rated version and I found it kind of disturbing watching puppets have porno sex. I'm jealous of them. The male puppet is well, always hard. He's made of wood or plastic or something that keeps its shape. I can't compete with that. I'm only human dammit. Boner pills can only do so much.

  14. Puppet sex! This movie violated and insulted just about everyone and anything.

    I loved it.

  15. Miss Ash - Thanks for clarification as I actually hadn't heard of such a thing, and all I can say is kudos to these guys because I'm obviously less creative. Enjoy.

Wendy - Avenue Q? Not sure about that one, but you're right about the Stern movie. I forgot. And I reviewed that for a paper back when I was writing entertainment news. I also liked that scene, but I refuse to acknowledge any puppet fetish.

WhatIgot - You're right. And they have such bendable (sp?) appendages and bodies that they are like porn stars crossed with gymnasts. It's just unfair.

Anonymous Boxer - I did too. And the songs were surprisingly catchy in the film as I found myself humming them for weeks afterwards. You couldn't sing the lyrics because most were too offensive.

  17. puppet sex?? I must've missed it. I never heard of this movie.

  19. I saw the unedited version first and...wow. The rumor is they actually had to cut that scene or get an NC-17 rating. True or not, who knows.

And Wendy's right about Avenue Q ~ great puppet sex "live" onstage.

  21. One of my all time favourite films for watching while consuming a bottle of wine. The puppet sex scene is fantastic (and somewhat reminiscent of what I used to make Barbie and Action Man get up to when I was a girl).

  22. Nobitch - Do a Google search, and you can find the scene. I'm not sure exactly what you missed as far as quality, however, the puppet sex is pretty spectacular.

Bostonpobble - How come everybody knows about Avenue Q but me? Don't answer that one. And yes, they did trim the scene to get an R rating for the theaters, adn then added the rest back into the DVD release.

  23. Luka - Flew by you in Cyberspace. But I would agree that this flick is definitely best enjoyed while being a little sideways on some kind of substance(s). Finally, these puppets were way more inventive than I got as a kid.

  24. Linda Says:
  25. I giggle every time I think about this movie, inappropriate, but so damn funny! BTW the puppet sex in Avenue Q is crazy as well. Saw it on Broadway this summer. If you want to laugh, non stop, see Avenue Q. There's a song called "The Internet is for Porn", need I say more? And this show won the Tony! Thinking about it now, I may go see it again, and rent Team America! Puppet sex makes for hearty laughs! Thanks for a chuckle in my day!

  27. What...have I been living under a rock all these years? I haven't heard of this movie OR Avenue Q and dammit I want to see puppets having sex in positions we humans can only dream about. Thanks for the tip. I am about to go google.

  28. Linda - "Puppet sex makes for hearty laughs!" is a tagline they should have used for the family friendly aspect of this movie. Ha. There were more laughs in the film that I anticipated, and while I don't think about it too often, I always laugh when I do. Finally, I really need to pay attention to Avenue Q because it sounds entertaining as well.

Gypsy - I'm right there with you on this Avenue Q business, and I generally revel in this kind of stuff. As for Team America, a good Google search will find you the scene in question, and you can see for yourself just how good these puppets can give in the bedroom. It's quite impressive.

  29. Hermes Says:
  30. I don't think anyone should be spared the unrated version details. Golden shower, feces on the chest. I felt violated and appalled. I do NOT approve. But I never laughed harder in my life.

  31. Getoffmylawn - Exactly. You nailed it as I can't say I approve, don't plan to emulate those parts in particular, yet I found myself laughing which is about all you can ask for in a comedy. I'll take it.

  32. Joanna Cake Says:
  33. This was the first sex scene I watched with my teenage daughter and I was trying so hard not to laugh because it was so brilliant... She had insisted that I watch the film and had spent the previous few weeks singing the theme tune complete with F word.

  34. Havingmycake - It was brilliant. Brililant and filthy all at the same time. And yes, those songs do get stuck in your head they're so damn catchy.
