Quick Hit Friday . . .

"All every woman really wants, be it mother, senator, nun, is some serious deep-dicking" - Jason Lee, "Chasing Amy"

It would take a death wish to espouse that philosophy at your next dinner party, although it would certainly be an interesting - if heated - conversation. I think I'll ignore that impulse at work today, and instead, focus on killing time and eating the complimentary office breakfast tacos which arrive every Friday.

But before I grab one with bacon and another with potato, let's look at the serious stories this week such as:

A restraining order was filed by Britney Spears' parents against Sam Lutfi, her manager who the suit alleges aided the pop stars downward spiral by drugging her, taking over her finances and controlling the paparazzi "like a general."

The documents released by the court Tuesday ordered Lutfi to stay away from Spears. In a section of the order detailing previous harassment, Lynne Spears says Lutfi "drugged Britney, he has cut Britney's home phone lines and removed her cell phone chargers. He yells at her. He claims to control everything — Britney's business manager, her attorneys and the security guards at the gate."

Off the record, Lynne Spears stated that if anybody should be controlling Britney and her finances, it's her own mother who "really needs a new pair of shoes right now."

But the continuing Spears drama wasn't finished for the week as Britney was discharged from the hospital Wednesday over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist and against the wishes of her father, who has been named as her conservator.

Jamie and Lynne Spears, in a joint statement given to The Associated Press, said they were "extremely disappointed" to learn their daughter had been allowed out and feel her "life is at risk."

I'm actually with them on this point because if Britney isn't sick enough to belong in a hospital, then nobody is.

It was announced this week that Eva Mendes is in rehab. The actress is reportedly being treated at Utah's Cirque Lodge rehab clinic for an undisclosed addiction, after deciding herself she needed "professional support".

Her spokesman said: "Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much needed time off to attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support."

Although the ailment was not disclosed, I'm pulling strongly for sexual addiction and I could clear my calendar if Mendes needed to discuss the issue.

In other rehab news, Kirsten Dunst also checked into the Cirque Lodge in Utah this week, according to "Entertainment Tonight."

I'm fine with Dunst's reasons being the Young Hollywood standards of pills, booze or heroin.

Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs that included painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication, the New York City medical examiner said Wednesday.

"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine," medical examiner's spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said in a statement.

This story is still just strange and sad, but now, certain rumors can at least be put to bed, which helps a small bit.

Jennifer Lopez is having twins, the singer/actresses father, David Lopez told Escándalo TV.

"Yes, twins,” he told the Spanish language TV show, People reported. “The thing is in my family, my sister also had twins, so it's a hereditary thing," he said.

JLo's doctors stated that they initially attributed the baby's excess size and weight to an extremely well-developed posterior, which was only recently confirmed as being a separate child.

Per usual, let's end on a high note with this image:

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I thought a little Red would jazz things up today. I know that Red usually means stop, however, this means Go to me, so make sure your signals are straight today, approach people with caution and . . . Happy Friday!

  1. I'd heard about Eva seeking rehab, but not Dunst. I have a connection at Cirque Lodge. Maybe I could get him to slip one (or both) of them my number. You know, in case they needed to "talk".

  3. How is it, a guy like Heath Ledger, quite, never ruffling anyone's feathers, takes a few too many legal pills and passes away in his sleep while crazy freaks like Britney keep plugging away?

It makes me wonder as to what the grand scheme of things is supposed to be.

  5. I've heard "Sam" Lufti was born a muslib with the name oSAMa Lufti. Lufti, without question, is an arabic name.

Maybe the grand plan was to have her wear a belly-concealed bomb-belt to a Hollyweird event.

  6. Native Minnow - Interesting. I would definitely try to locate your contact regarding Eva, although I heard that she has now checked out. But we're all there to help as I feel that altruism is underrated these days.

WhatIgot - Exactly. There's all sorts of in-your-face celebs with little talent running around, and nothing happens. It does make you question the larger implications of such a world.

Troll - You could strap Britney with anything these days, and she wouldn't know or care. But the odds of her blowing up a gas station or Starbucks would be the highest as those are the only places she seems to frequent.

  7. I decided that my 16-year-old is lucky there are young women like Britney around. Her behavior makes my kid's "C" in biology look like it's not such a bad thing.

  8. I could never really get into Eva Mendes as she reminds me a little too much of my sister but... damn, man, that totally hot pic is making me confront unexpected personal issues best left unsaid.

  9. Wendy - Yes. It's always a sliding scale, and I would think that 'C' pales in comparison with Spear's shenaigans (sp?). That being said, I don't think Britney is a ruler anyone should be compared against (sp?).

Idig - I'm sorry for that, but I've always liked Mendes as she is just sexy. Please don't send any psychiatrist bills south to Austin.

  11. Ahaha - Native Minnow is, as always, A DOG.

Such a sad week for presciption pills. They ruin it for the rest of it that could just use a good night sleep at times.

All of these celebs just remind me that my life isn't crap. I guess that's why they're overpaid and over pampered.

    Happy Friday, 2$.

  13. Breakfast Tacos?? you lucky stiff!!
    Happy Friday!!

  14. Anonymous Boxer - A dog, but one with connections, which is good in my book. Ha. Happy Friday, and I think a few pills are fine, it's the mixing of a tons of different kinds which can lead to trouble.

Nobich - Lucky indeed as those things are delicious. Happy Friday.

friend: for what, her snaggle tooth?

    heh.

  18. rehab is just the place to be in Hollywood!! I liked the movie Chasing Amy.....that was back when Ben Affleck had his original teeth, jaw and hairline. Viva the deep dicking!!

  20. I have a little theory I would like to put to you $2. Do you have a penchant for Latina women because I notice you had the hots for Salma in your last post and now its Eva (apparently Minnow is right there with you on the latter). Then your high note image definitely has the dark sexy looks too, not that many people reading this would have looked at her face I'm sure. I'm hoping its true because it would be a nice change from men always liking the blue eyed blondes.

I can't even bear to comment on the Britney saga....it even defies the word TRAGIC.

  21. Linda Says:
  22. I always look forward to your Friday movie quotes, this week did not disappoint! Laughed out loud, needed that his week, thanks!
    Happy Friday : )

  23. J - Ha. And ouch. I vaguely considered something like that, but your co-worker nailed it.

Vivavavoom - I liked "Chasing Amy" a lot as I own it on DVD. It's also one of Affleck's better performances (with his original features as you noted). Finally, Viva the Deep Dicking would look great on a t-shirt, wouldn't it?

Gypsy - Good eye. I do like latino or Spanish women (although I don't discriminate against blondes, redheads, etc. either - I'm equal opportunity). But that last pic has a model - Denise Milani - who I think (think?) is Swedish or something like that. I could be wrong. And yes, the Spears saga is has long passed into the realm of tragic.

Linda - You're welcome as there were a lot of good quotes from that film. The one I used simply sprang to mind the fastest. Ha.

  24. Grace Says:
  25. Eva Mendes is a cutey.

I've never tried breakfast tacos... I think you should send me some ;)

  26. Grace - Mendes is definitely cute (among other things). And I would send you a taco, however, my guess is that they would get soggy and nasty during the trip up north. They are fairly easy to make as it's just a flour tortilla stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheese, potatoes and bacon/sausage.
